Rotary Club Cairo North honors CAE for supporting the Imbaba El Matar Development project

In a wonderful celebration at the Fairmont Nile City Hotel, Sherif Zaher, head of Rotary Club Cairo North, has honored Crédit Agricole Egypt for supporting and funding the Imbaba El Matar Development project, as the bank has committed LE3 million to the project over the past two years.

Members of the CSR Committee at the bank, members of Rotary Club and a set of public figures attended the celebration.

On this occasion, Chairman and Managing Director of Crédit Agricole Egypt, Mr. François-Edouard Drion, has expressed his happiness regarding this honoring.

“We thank Rotary Club Cairo North for this honoring and to it we confirm our commitment to continue our giving and support to the second stage of the project,” Mr. Edouard said. “I also confirms CAE’s keenness and constant quest to play an effective role in community initiatives that targets development, as we are a bank that believes in the importance of the Social responsibility of the private sector and its role in developing the communicates it operates in; therefore we will do our best to provide the support for any innovative community initiative.”

Drion said: “Imbaba El Matar project aims at improving the lives of residents by addressing three main axes for development which are health care, education and environmental development. The first stage managed to upgrade the three axes together, and much more to be achieved from this development project in the 2nd stage.”

Members of the Crédit Agricole Egypt CSR Committee, including Mr. Hassan Serag El-Din, Ms. Omneya Sami, Ms. Mona Ashour, Mr. Emad Amir, Ms. Nervana Labib and Ms. Sayonara Al Asmar.

Sherif Zaher, Head of Rotary Club Cairo North, said: “On behalf of the club, I shall extend my sincere thanks to the Managing Director and CEO of Crédit Agricole Egypt, Mr. François-Edouard Drion, and all those who are involved in the social responsibility dossier at the bank for their splendid efforts, huge support and clear pursuit to make the live of residents of Imbaba El Matar better.”

It’s noteworthy that the bank has provided the area with an ophthalmic clinic and an eye surgery unit, serving 800 patients monthly, as well a clinic equipped with state-of-the-art devices for internal, obstetric and gynecological medicine, as well as an ophthalmic unit. The bank has organized two medical convoys that served roughly 400 patients for free.

As for education, the project currently runs 20 literacy classes, where 200 people graduated and more will graduate in the future, as well as establishing a cultural center for young people.
